Steiner print pub. between 1815 and 1826, since that's when that imprint existed (see Tobias Haslinger). (Ah. Krommer's string trio was published in 1816, with a lower plate, so ...) . The Schubert theme this work is based on was published in 1822, so unless it was first performed before (how else "beliebten"?), almost certainly published 1822 or later.

On listening to Schuch’s recording: Romantic, not Classical.
